You need to breathe. It may seem odd to think that way. Obviously you’re breathing. Your body does this automatically, and you don’t have to think about it. Although, your breath deserves your attention.

Breathing is the main form of pranic activity in the body. Prana, (life energy or life force), is the enlivening power within the body. It sustains all of our bodily functions. As we age, the body develops poor breathing habits that have an immediate impact on our health, vitality, and well being. As we accumulate stress, muscle tension, and illnesses, the body is less able to absorb oxygen, nutrients and prana. This can lead to more health problems.

A regular breathing practice helps to unravel these tensions and breathing restrictions. As the tensions begin to unravel, your body’s innate healing power begins to unfold, and you rediscover your natural ability to take in a full complete breath.

We offer private sessions to support you in developing your awareness of your breath, and teach you how to incorporate this practice into your daily life, as a means of enhancing the body’s natural ability to draw in and absorb more prana (life energy). Emphasis is on reducing stress, and its destructive effects on the mind and body.

The benefits of a breathing practice:

  • Eliminates waste & toxins
  • Restores physical health and vitality
  • Reduces anxiety and stress
  • Calms the mind and soothes the nervous system
  • Balances the immune system
  • Increases energy levels
  • Improves sleeping habits
  • Massages your internal organs
  • Pain management

As long as there is breath in the body, there is life.
When breath departs, so too does life.
Therefore, regulate the breath. (Hatha Yoga Pradipika)
